Repurposed Men's Shirt

Repurposing is ALL the rage right now. I'm all for it, too....except that I'm not super great at making clothes. But then my aunt sent me THIS link for repurposing a men's shirt and making a shirt for yourself. I decided I would try it out.

Welllll.... the thought was good in theory. In practice, not so much. I started out making a shirt for me. And then I cut too much off. So then I decided to make it a dress for my 1-year-old daughter. But I used a stretchy fabric dress to use as the pattern so when I tried to get it on her it would stretch across her belly! Frustrating! It would totally fit a smaller baby girl. I guess I'll keep it in case I ever have another girl...

At least it looks super cute!

I think my favorite part is the collar. I love how it ties in the front!

I'm going to try again with a different shirt so fingers crossed that I can get it right this time!!

  3. The idea is so cute - even if you have to save it for your next girl! I've also tried making a girly blouse out of a men's shirt and the neckline was - oh, well! But I'm going to use your idea with the ribbon for my next project - you can't get girlier than that, right?

  4. Nowadays T-shirts really are a permanent part of our way of life, no matter whether we're being placed in the summer months temperature or even layering to arrive at agreeable winter months cool. There may be simply nothing better or higher comfortable than a t-shirt.
