Sprocket Pillows & Goals

I've been thinking a lot lately about what's important to me. Let me show you what I came up with:

- Religion
- Family
- Health
- Self Improvement

I think it's important to make goals in each area and I did at the beginning of the year, but I'm re-addressing my goals and thinking about what matters most.

I would say that this blog falls under my "Self Improvement" category. Which means it ranks 4th in importance. Don't get me wrong, I love this blog. There is a lot of hours represented in each project shown. Plus, my followers are like my friends. However, I have two beautiful babies and an amazing husband and ME who I have to think about.

I honestly don't know how some bloggers can make posts every day while giving attention to their families and home. I'm not Super Woman. I can't do it all. But I'm going to post when I can and that will just have to be enough for me. But I love each of you and hope you stick around for the projects I make!

Sorry about the rambling, on to the Sprocket Pillows!!

Sprocket Pillow

I have recently discovered the amazingness that is Cluck Cluck Sew. I am desperately in love with beautiful quilts and this blog delivers! While roaming around her blog, I found a tutorial for Sprocket Pillows. And I knew I needed one. Like, right then.

Here's one Allison, from Cluck Cluck Sew, made:

The tutorial is SO SO easy. I promise. If you have a sewing machine, you can make one. Pinky swear.

So go now! Go make one! Here's how mine turned out:

I LOVE it! So cute! Thank you so much Allison at Cluck Cluck Sew!!

Some in process pics:

And look how cute the end result is! Love.

Oh yeah, and those petal pillows? Also from her. Tutorial here.

  1. I don't understand how people post every day either. I've been telling myself just that too, post when I have something to show, even if that's just once a week. I like "little" blogs for this reason, not too overwhelmed with all the content, which is often not what I want to see anyway.

Your pillows are sooo nice! I don't like plain old square pillows myself, these are just up my alley!

  2. Kathryn, after 2 weeks of this sewing competition I was just thinking about that same thing. How in the world do people have so much time to sew/craft/create, blog it all, including tutorials, and still manage their home and family? My goodness, I've been so exhausted the past couple of days! Do what you can, when you can, I'll still be around! :)

I love the pillow too! I have a pile of IKEA pillows in my closet I need to sew covers for. All square- but I started thinking I need to add some roundness into that mix, whenever it is that I get around to whipping up some covers. I may have to keep this in mind. :) And, I totally agree with you, Allison at Cluck Cluck Sew is amazing. I love her quilts!

  3. This is so pretty. Love your green fabrics. Sometimes I feel pressure to make something just so I can blog which kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it. Thanks for sharing this at our party this week.

  5. I don't have kids, but I have a husband, two dogs, a house, and work full time at a draining job, and I don't have time to post every day, either. It would be nice to be able to post more than once a week, but it just doesn't work out. On a different note, the pillow is adorable and has been on my to-do list for awhile. Thanks for reminding me, in a very cute way, that I need to find time to make this!
