Flower Headband for Baby

I LOVE Etsy.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.

I was looking on it for some headbands/beanies for little missy and I finally determined that somehow I could make them myself (the headbands, not the beanies. Crocheting makes my head hurt).

So I headed to Hobby Lobby for some supplies. I ended up with

- Single flowers with stems (50% off!)
- Headbands (Only 75 cents!)
- Circle rhinestones
- Alligator clips

A flower like this one:

I pulled the stem out and then once you do that the rest comes out fairly easily. I took it all apart to the petals. I glued those together and then glued a rhinestone in the middle and an alligator clip on the back and TA-DA! A flower clip.

Oh, and I also wrapped and glued some ribbon on the headbands so I could slip the clip through that instead of having it next to the baby's head. And the best part? I did it all while I watched the Nate Berkus show. A cheap and fast craft.

Fabric Tie Wreath

I saw these on a couple of different craft blogs and I wanted to try it out.

AND, it was cheap, cheap, CHEAP!

There's a tutorial for one that's similar at Brown Paper Packages.

Instead of wrapping the fabric around and tying it though, I just make little fabric ties and then hot glued them on the wreath. I used a wicker-ish wreath and covered it in muslin and then tied and glued. I also added a couple ribbon flowers.

The wreath was $2 from Goodwill and the fabric were fat quarters from Joann's for $1.25 each. The rest I already had! Like I said, cheap.

(Look at that UGLY screen! I wish I could rip it off! And repaint the door.)

Get comfy and grab a pillow!

How about one of these pillows? We bought a pinkish couch a while ago and it came with two of these pillows:

Yuck. No thanks. I covered them with a CUTE fabric my mom bought me from Cabbage Rose:

Ahhhh. Much better. Now I want to make one of those CUTE fabric flower pillows. But for now these pillows add a little flava flav to my couches. (P.S. I added a zipper in case Luke wipes nasty fingers on them or baby #2 decides to spit up on one of them. Just a tip.)

Bow Tucks Tote

I'm so excited to show you all my new diaper bag! (Notice how I still don't say "y'all" and I've lived in Texas for 2 years?!)

My mom bought the Bow Tucks Tote pattern FOREVER ago at Gardner Village in Utah. I hadn't even had Luke yet and I don't think I was pregnant, either. Wishful thinking back then, I guess.

My mom bought me some wonderful Michael Miller fabric to make the bag and I LOVE how it turned out! It just feeds my pink and green obsession!

Loving that pink and green!

I LOVE the bows on the side! I'm also slightly obsessed with bows :)

Awesome...pockets! Something every mama needs!

A little close up on the quilting I did on the outside pocket. Nothing fancy, just added cuteness.

Fabric Organization

I'm trying to get that blasted third bedroom organized so that my mom has a place to stay next month.

(HOLY. My mom is coming next month because I'm having a BABY. Crazy.)

Anyway, I decided to organize my fabric today. I recommend this to everyone. I feel better about myself now.

My sad fabric bins before:

And after:

And my bin o' scraps:

It only took me 2 hours to organize. Sheesh.

Getting ready for baby GIRL!!

I'm getting the "nursery" ready! I have the crib and changing table in mine and Drew's room and now I'm kind of trying to make it a little cuter. Baby girl doesn't get her own room, so I'm trying to make it up to her by making her area as cute as possible (like she cares!).

I made this a while ago but I just put it up:

Also, I bought the changing table off Craigslist a while ago and it came with two beat up baskets with this nasty lining in it:

I took it out (obviously) and replaced them to look like this (see how beat up they are!):

Christmas Crafts

Now I can show what I've been working on for Christmas!

I wanted to make something special for my mom and mother-in-law, so I decided on giving them a box of 10 handmade cards and then they get one new handmade card a month for this year (which should be easier now, since my in-laws bought me a personal-sized Cricut!). Here are the ones I made for their boxes:

A while ago, my dad gave me one of his favorite shirts and asked me to make him something out of it. So...this is what I made. He loves briefcases, so I tried to make this big with lots of pens slots.

And, for my two of my baby nephews, I appliqued (for the first time--Don't laugh!) them little onesies.

I also made a tie for my father-in-law, but I haven't taken a pic yet. Maybe when, or if, I see him wearing it!
