I have been wanting to make one of these for FOREVER.

Seriously.

But I was never confident enough in my flower-making abilities. BUT, then I found this tutorial:

I LOVE how it turned out!!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies

Wow, that is quite a name for a dessert!

I found this recipe the other day and I knew I had to make some for my AMAZING friend! She watched Luke so I could go to a doctor's appointment (and she deserved more than brownies...I ended up being gone for 2.5 hours! But that's another story).

Anyway, these are scrumptious. And I took the author's advice and cut the cookie dough part in half and it was perfect.

Now... Go make some!

Food, Folks, and Fun

Cookie Dough Brownies

Ingredients:

For the Brownies Layer:
1 box of brownie mix (family size)
Ingredients on box the box to make the brownies
For the Cookie Dough Layer:
1 ½ C (3 sticks) salted butter, room temperature
1 ½ C brown sugar
⅔ C granulated sugar
1 t vanilla extract
9 T milk
3 C all purpose flour
2 C chocolate chips

Directions:

Make the brownies according to directions on the box and bake as directed.

To make the cookie dough, cream together the butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Beat in milk. Add in flour and mix until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.

Once brownies have completely cooled spread the cookie dough on top. Place in freezer for 20-30 minutes or in refrigerator for several hours to set.

The Good and the Bad

I decided to learn how to make fabric flowers, since I have a little girl now. I used these tutorials (pretty easy stuff!):

House of Smith's

The Purl Bee

The first ones were very successful. I'm happy with the turn out. However, the last two...a little sad. The green one I made up, which is pretty apparent.

Pottery Barn-style Framed Chalkboard

My amazing friend Kellee is the guest crafter on my blog today! Shout out to Kel!

She made a super cute, Pottery Barn-style chalkboard with a very chic framed border.

Check out her pictures and what she said about her project:

This ugly frame had a mirror in it (in the following picture you can see it) but I knew it had potential. I found it at a garage sale for a $1 or $2. My new motto is that the uglier the frame the better it will look with spray paint. Very Ballard Design or Pottery Barn if you ask me.

This is the mirror that was in the frame

Finished and done! With a little white spray paint and some chalk board spray paint we have the cutest chalk board! My favorite spray paint brand is Krylon. It works on ANYTHING. The chalk board spray paint I got at Michaels and it is also Krylon. I have done tons of projects with just one can of the chalk board spray paint.

Thanks, Kellee! It looks awesome!

Sorry...

It's been so long! I have been moving and living in a hotel, so there hasn't been a whole lot of crafting going on.

But I HAD to share this link my friend shared with me. I can't wait to get my Cricut out now and do some crafting damage!!!

Sweet Tutus

Today my friend Emily came over to teach me and another friend Jessica how to make tutus. We're all three expecting baby girls this year...fun, huh?!

I've made a tutu before, but I made it all up as I went. Then I saw a tutu Emily had made and it looked awesome! (Way better than mine!)

So, she instructed Jessica and I and I think they turned out precious. They look like they're for dolls, not a real person. I keep forgetting how little babies come out!

Jessica cutting her tulle (spools are better than buying by the yard, just FYI)

Emily tying the tulle on the elastic (use 1 inch wide elastic)

Aren't they cute? I'm so excited to put it on my little girl!
